Providence Health & Services Cardiac Sonographer in Seaside, Oregon
Providence is calling a Cardiac Sonographer (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Seaside Hospital in Seaside, OR.
In this position, you will:
Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician’s orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment.
Objectively identify the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Assist physicians with more invasive echocardiograph examinations including, but not limited to, Tran esophageal echocardiography, substernal epicardial echocardiography, contrast echocardiography, pericardial centesis, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography.
Modify procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.
Comply with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) and departmental policies and procedures.
This position requires shared coverage for stand by and call back emergency studies in the evenings and weekends. This may include shared regional coverage to other Portland facilities.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Registered Non-invasive Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist (RCS or RDCS) -or- registry-eligible
Maintenance of certification and professional expertise with continuing education
Appropriate state licensure
Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
Driver’s license and dependable transportation
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical sonography from Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHE) accredited school
1 year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations -or- 800 exams using all imaging modalities available
