Providence Health & Services Certified Medical Assistant in Seaside, Oregon
Providence is calling a Certified Medical Assistant (1.0 FTE, Days) to the Oncology Department at Providence Seaside Hospital in Seaside, OR.
Schedule: Monday- Friday
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant who will work closely with a team of staff including physicians and advanced level providers to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care. Medical Assistant's duties include assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and performing tests under the supervision of a licensed medical provider.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provide compassionate care and excellent customer service while managing the workflow between patients and providers
Facilitate communication between patients, providers, clinic staff, internal and external customers to support patient care
Navigate data system(s) to research and/or record pertinent information
Assist physicians/providers during examinations and procedures
Conduct various tests and procedures and administers medications
CMA, Certified Medical Assistant, C.M.A.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma -OR- GED
Credentialing through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant program such as Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Association for Healthcare Professionals (NAHP)
If not currently credentialed, this position will require successfully obtaining Medical Assistant Certification within sixty (60) days from date of hire
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for the Healthcare Provider
Experience performing testing, administering medications, and assist with examinations and procedures within the MA Scope of Care to support patient care provided by a licensed healthcare provider
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Six (6) months experience working as a Medical Assistant
Experience with electronic medical records and/or computerized billing systems
