Providence Health & Services Housekeeping Attendant in Seaside, Oregon

Description:

Providence is calling a Housekeeping Attendant (1.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Seaside Hospital in Portland, OR.

In this position you will be responsible on the following responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning tasks in an assigned area of Providence Health Systems hospitals, medical centers, medical office buildings or satellites to provide a sanitary, orderly and attractive environment.

  • Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients, families, staff, and physicians.

  • Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas, and willingly performs routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis despite frequent interruptions.

  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload and follow through appropriately. Completes job duties in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for washing, folding, and maintaining proper inventories of linen in all departments as assigned.

  • Demonstrate awareness of the impact of self on others and the ability to respond appropriately. Interacts effectively and demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with other members of the health care team. Willingly assists others as needed.

  • Take initiative to problem solve in a positive manner. Understands and adheres to proper channels of communication.

  • Participate in actual and mock fire and disaster drills according to hospital plans.

  • Ensure patient identifiers remain out of the regular waste stream.

Qualifications:

Required qualification for this position includes:

  • On the job training

  • Ability to learn basic computer skills.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, constant interruptions, high volume urgency or issues, and interactions with a wide variety of professionals and personalities.

  • Must be able to work independently and assume responsibility for job completion in a timely manner.

  • Recognizes situations beyond own knowledge and training and calls for assistance when needed.

  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use disinfectants according to department procedures.

  • Must be able to manipulate carts, wheelchairs, beds, and other equipment.

  • Ability to pay attention to detail and respond quickly to instructions.

  • Ability to use digital pager system and computer.

  • Knowledge of linen procedures and processing is a plus.

  • Floor care procedures and processing is a plus.

  • Knowledge of floor care equipment a plus.

  • Knowledge of laundry equipment a plus.

Preferred qualification for this position includes:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
