Providence Health & Services Registered Radiology Technologist in Seaside, Oregon
Providence is calling a Registered Radiology Technologist (1.0 FTE, Variable/Rotating Shift) to Providence Seaside Hospital in Seaside, OR.
We are seeking a Registered Radiology Technologist who will perform imaging examinations according to physicians orders, utilizing a variety of sophisticated imaging equipment, taking into account individual patients unique and/or age-related needs. Utilizes clinical knowledge and judgment in regard for proper positioning factors, radiation dose calibration of technique and patient treatment needed to produce optimal high quality images. Performs all examinations with minimal radiation exposure to patient and operator with ALARA awareness.
Competent in using specialized imaging equipment with all patient types; inpatient, outpatient, emergency, surgical suites and perform complex fluoroscopic procedures following sterile technique protocols. Including performing imaging studies with portable equipment on hospitalized patients.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Provides high quality images by performing examinations in multiple diagnostic areas, IP, OP, ED, Surgery. This includes conducting exams at the bedside for critically ill and immobile patients using portable imaging equipment, as well surgical C-arm cases in Surgery. May include performing bone densitometry exams. Performs all exams being mindful of 'ALARA'.
Operates radiology equipment, determines and sets imaging factors, utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images, with minimal and acceptable repeat rates.
Always provides for safe radiological operations by adhering to radiation protection standards. Uses protective lead shielding in accordance with policy. Understands and uses appropriate x-ray techniques to provide high quality imaging, while keeping dose exposure to patient and operator as low as possible.
Presents images and related pertinent patient information to physician for diagnosis.
Assists physicians with fluoroscopic and invasive special procedures, setting up sterile procedure trays and working within sterile fields, while completing accurate documentation.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R) certification
Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) as an Registered Radiology Technologist (RTR).
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
