Providence is calling a Respiratory Therapist Registered to Providence Seaside Hospital in Seaside, OR

0.9 FTE, Nights. Fixed schedule, including every other weekend.

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist Registered that will take exceptional care of people by providing independent coordination of respiratory care and implementation of respiratory care policy, procedure and/or protocols under the direction and supervision of a physician. Apply advanced clinical expertise, scientific knowledge, and theory in the respiratory care of patients exercising independent judgment. Function in a leadership capacity as charge therapist, patient assessor, preceptor and/or instructor as assigned. Utilize decision-making skills and critical thinking abilities (analytical skills, problem-solving, and negotiation skills) while performing all duties. Promote the safety and well being of all patients and supports the key result areas of Providence Health System (Clinical Quality, Service Excellence, Financial Performance and Positioning for the Future).

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Personal appearance conforms with hospital guidelines

  • Wear scrubs and gowns as prescribed

  • Telephone, electronic and face to face encounters are pleasant and professional

  • Quality assurance and competency surveys and quality control reports are accurate, timely, documented, and filed properly

  • Instrument are maintained and cleaned according to specifications (including sterile processing), all maintenance records are documented

  • Handle instrumental or facility malfunction properly

  • Make charge entries in an accurate and timely manner; takes responsibility for checking charge logs for accuracy

  • Record keeping for productivity measurements are done accurately and within designated time frames

  • TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Initiate and maintain proper oxygen and humidity therapy

  • Administer nebulize medications; follows policy regarding storage of bull and single medication dosages

  • Chest physical therapy, toilet and postural drainages are performed adequately and in a timely manner

  • Procedure and policy manuals are maintained so as to be current and are annually reviewed, documented

  • Actively participate in charge master review for accuracy and inclusiveness; review charge audits for completeness and accuracy

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of AMA approved School of Respiratory Therapy -OR- Associates Degree for CRTs

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR/AED

  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS)

  • American Heart Association Neonatal Pediatric life support (NRP)

  • Licensed by Oregon State medical examiners. Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the State of OR

  • Basic computer/word processing experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
