Providence Health & Services RN - Shift Supervisor in Seaside, Oregon


Providence is calling a RN - Shift Supervisor (0.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Seaside Hospital in Seaside, OR.

Bring your nursing leadership experience to our ministry for this On-Call House Supervisor position. Shifts would cover vacations and sick leave openings, on both day and night shifts, and will also look to fill in on the schedule as needed.

Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountain Range, Providence Seaside Hospital is the heart of Providence Health & Services North Coast service area. Providence Seaside Hospital is a 25-bed, critical access hospital with full accreditation by the Joint Commission that offers primary and specialty care, a birth center with family suites, general surgery, radiology, diagnostic imaging, pathology and emergency medicine 24 hours/day, 7 days/wk.

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for the management of the hospital during those hours when the nursing unit managers, other department managers and administration are not in house.

  • Be in charge of the general operation of the hospital.

  • Demonstrate a wide range of general nursing and unit specific skills, including application of the nursing process.

  • Provide leadership for the daily operations of the nursing units.

  • Lead and develop staff by role modeling professional practice and effective management skills.

  • Provide input into and helps achieve unit goals.

  • Support the philosophy of nursing, the goals of the institution, and the mission of Providence health and Services mission and philosophy.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse with the Oregon State Board of Nursing

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications within 6 months

  • 3 years of experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or combination thereof

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience in ED
